A Simple Guide To Nauv Raatri Offerings

Nauv Raatri List.jpg

I am posting a recommended list of ingredients for the preparation of the Dhaar that needs to be offered daily to the Divine Mother. If you are unable to obtain all the ingredients then please offer whatever you have, and most importantly, offer it fully encased with the utmost LOVE and devotion from your hearts to the Universal Mother.

If you do not have the proper outdoor facilities for offering Dhaar, then simply place a dried coconut on top of a lotaa or kalsaa and include mango and or neem leaves. Then every day, offer a few drops of the Dhaar onto the top of the coconut.

Two of the most powerful, yet simple to recite MANTRA's to use for offerings to Devi Maa are as follows:

“Sarva Mangala Mangalye Sive Sarvartha Sadhike

Saranye Trayambike Gauri Narayani Namostute”

In Sanskrit:

सर्वमङ्गलमाङ्गल्ये शिवे सर्वार्थसाधिके ।

शरण्ये त्र्यम्बके गौरि नारायणि नमोऽस्तु ते ॥

Meaning : ‘She is the most auspicious one and the one who bestows auspiciousness upon all of the world. She is pure and holy. She protects those who surrender to her and is also called the Mother of the three worlds and is Gauri, daughter of mountain king. We bow down to Mother Durga again and again. We worship her.’

OR

"Om Dum Durgayei Namaha"

In Sanskrit: ॐ दुं दुर्गायै नमः

Meaning: Om and Salutations to that feminine energy which protects from all manner of negative influences, and for which Dum is the seed.’

On the last night of Nauv Raatri, please burn the coconut in your havan kundh were permissible or immerse in water the following day. The offering of the coconut into the havan kundh can be made using the following mantra.

Om Puurnnam-Adah Puurnnam-Idam Puurnnaat-Puurnnam-Udacyate |

Puurnnasya Puurnnam-Aadaaya Puurnnam-Eva-Avashissyate ||

Om Shaantih Shaantih Shaantih ||

Meaning: Om, That (Outer World) is Purna (Full with Divine Consciousness); This (Inner World) is also Purna (Full with Divine Consciousness); From Purna is manifested Purna (From the Fullness of Divine Consciousness the World is manifested),Om, Peace, Peace, Peace.

Do have a very blessed and safe Nauv Raatri Celebration and look forward to your presence during the 9 nights Devi Bhagawat Yagya which begins this Saturday October 17th.

Jai Mata Di......
